Terms of Service
Last updated: November 3, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Second Look. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using Second Look, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Second Look is operated by Ben Dellicarpini, an individual based in Ohio, USA (“Second Look”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at support@secondlookfinance.com.
“You” means the organization that signs up for an account (the “Customer”) and every person the Customer allows to use it. The person who creates the account confirms they are authorized to accept these Terms on the Customer's behalf.
2. What Second Look does, and what it doesn't
Second Look helps accounts payable teams spot signs that an email may be fraudulent, for example a look-alike sender domain or a request to change bank details. It gives an automated assessment and a checklist of verification steps.
Second Look is a decision-support tool, not a guarantee. It can miss fraudulent emails and can flag genuine ones. A result such as “No red flags found” does not mean an email is safe or genuine. You remain fully responsible for your payment decisions and for following your own approval and verification procedures, including confirming any change of payment details by phone using contact details you already hold. Second Look does not provide legal, financial, accounting or security advice.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep passwords confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- The account owner can invite team members and is responsible for their use of the service and for removing people who should no longer have access.
- Tell us promptly at support@secondlookfinance.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Free trial, plans and payment
- Free trial. Only the Pro plan comes with a free trial: 14 days, including up to 50 AI-reviewed checks, with no payment card needed. One free trial per organization. The Starter and Business plans have no free trial and are billed from the start. If you don't choose a paid plan by the end of the trial, email checks pause until you subscribe. Your vendors and check log are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Subscriptions. Paid plans (Starter $49, Pro $99, Business $249 per month, in US dollars, unless a different price is shown when you subscribe) are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number. You authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method for each billing period.
- Taxes. Prices exclude taxes unless stated. You are responsible for applicable taxes, which may be added to your invoice.
- Plan changes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the Billing page. Changes may be prorated.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then ends. We don't give refunds for partial months, except where the law requires it.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we (through Stripe) will retry it. If it still can't be collected, we may suspend paid features until the balance is paid.
- Price changes. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing period after the notice period. If you don't agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Plan limits and fair use
Each plan has limits on team members and AI-reviewed checks, as shown on the Pricing page. The Business plan includes unlimited AI review, subject to fair use: it's intended for the normal operations of a single organization. As a guideline, more than about 5,000 AI-reviewed checks in a month is beyond fair use. If that happens, AI review may pause until the next month (rules-based checks keep working), and we may contact you about a custom plan. We may also limit use that is automated, resold, or harms the service for other customers.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit content you don't have the right to share with us, or use the service for anything unlawful;
- use the service to send, create or test phishing or fraud, or to help anyone else do so;
- try to break, probe or get around the service's security, rate limits or plan limits;
- copy, resell, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- enter bank account numbers or similar sensitive financial details (the service tries to block them, and you agree not to work around that).
7. Your data
You keep all rights to the data you put into Second Look (“Customer Data”), including vendor details and the emails you check. You give us permission to process Customer Data only to provide, secure, support and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement, which form part of these Terms.
If your plan includes AI review and it is switched on, the text of emails you check is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the review. An account owner can switch AI review off at any time in Settings.
You are responsible for having the right to submit the emails you check, including any personal information in them, and for giving any notices your own customers, vendors or staff are entitled to.
8. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties, including our hosting provider, Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (AI review). Their services are subject to their own terms. We aren't responsible for outages or changes on their side, but we will choose reputable providers and hold them to appropriate data protection terms.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Second Look available and secure, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features. If we remove a feature that is central to your paid plan, you may cancel and we will refund any prepaid amount for the period after the change.
10. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL DETECT ALL FRAUDULENT, MALICIOUS OR INACCURATE EMAILS, OR THAT ITS RESULTS WILL BE CORRECT.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW: (a) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL; (b) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM A PAYMENT, TRANSFER OR CHANGE OF PAYMENT DETAILS MADE BY YOU OR ON YOUR BEHALF, OR FROM FRAUD COMMITTED BY ANY THIRD PARTY, WHETHER OR NOT THE SERVICE FLAGGED THE RELATED EMAIL; AND (c) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Customer Data you submit without the right to do so, or from your breach of these Terms or of the law.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, don't pay, or if required by law, and we will give notice where reasonable. After your account ends, we will delete Customer Data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 10–12 and 14) will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and both parties consent to those courts' jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, each party agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the other for at least 30 days.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify the account owner by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer your account without our consent. We may transfer these Terms to a successor, for example if Second Lookbecomes a company.
